Frozen 3rd Birthday Party

My daughter recently saw the Disney movie, Frozen and LOVED it.  Well, she was terrified of the snow monster but other than that, the movie was a winner!  Her birthday party was a week after the movie was released so of course there were no Frozen party supplies available in stores yet.  We had her party on a whim because her uncle happened to be here for a surprise visit so I made everything the day of the party.  Luckily the party stores had plenty of snowflake decor since it was the beginning of December!  But thanks to Disney not being on top of things and filling the stores with party supplies for this blockbuster movie, I was left to come up with ideas on my own ;-) The planning and creating of everything but the cake was rushed into a 3 hour time frame but my little girl loved it all and that made me a happy mama!

I used an antique silver platter as a centerpiece for the table.  I placed store-bought snowflake confetti and home made snowflakes which I made with a glue gun and glitter.

I had some snow globes left over from my daughter's first birthday party.  So I printed out pictures of the Frozen characters and placed them inside.

I made what I call "snow globe plates" using confetti, glitter and pictures I cut from a scrap piece of wrapping paper.  These were a HUGE hit with the kids!!

The cake was frosted to look like a snowy landscape complete with snow-covered hills and trees.  I purchased the Frozen mini-figure set and used the cardboard background inside the box as a stand-up background on the cake.  I placed the figures around the cake and had Anna and Elsa hold a Happy Birthday banner.

What a fun little party for my big girl!

Duck Dynasty Birthday Party

My kids and I decided to make my husband's birthday extra special this year and throw him a fun birthday party!  Currently, the boys in our house love watching Duck Dynasty so I went with that theme.  I made a yummy, two tier chocolate and peanut butter cake.  I made Uncle Si out of fondant along with some cat tails, a duck call and of course, Si's sweet tea cup and pitcher!  I personalized signs using popular phrases from the show.  For the decor, I bought simple camouflage party items because Duck Dynasty party decor was still not available in stores.

SURPRISE!!! LOL

The Glowing Air Fort

My son starts school in a few days so we are focused on fitting in as many super-fun activities as we possibly can this week! We made a play fort we called The Glowing Air Fort and it was a huge hit with my kids and their friends! I attached a blower to the plastic sheeting with tape and threw in a black light for extra fun! We used glow sticks, neon stickers and neon toys inside the fort. The kids had a blast and played for hours! TOTAL WINNER!!

Baby Shower Diaper Bag Gift Basket

For my friend's baby shower, I wanted to give her something she would definitely get a lot of use out of.  With my second child, I was completely over having to go back and forth to the baby's room to change diapers.  I was having health issues after my pregnancy and walking up and down 20 stairs every time she needed a diaper change just wasn't going to happen!  So what worked for us was having a small tote the fit lovely on one of the bottom stairs and keeping it filled with everything we needed for changes.  Everything was right at our fingertips for daily use and when we went out of town for the weekend, all we had to do was grab the bag and head out the door (I did not use this for a daily-use diaper bag to take to the store, etc. as the bag was open and did not close.  Here is the ThiryOne bag I used).   I found the Organizing Utility Tote on the ThirtyOne website and thought this bag would fit my plan.   I filled it with diapers, wipes, diaper cream, a changing mat, "poop bags", hand sanitizer, gas drops and a few extra items that may be helpful during a diaper change!  Check out the Sugar and Spice baby shower here!

Sugar and Spice Baby Shower

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice,
That's What Little Girls Are Made Of

My best friend is due with a little girl in a few months so I threw her a baby shower.  The theme I went with was Sugar and Spice based on the well-known nursery rhyme.

I started with designing all of the printed/paper items (invites, table cards, games, labels) which are all available to purchase in my Etsy shop.

There was a buffet of Sugar and Spice foods.

Some of the "sugar" foods included powdered sugar donut holes, dipped rice crispy treats, rock candy, cupcakes and dipped pretzels.

For the "spice" foods, I included mini cinnamon buns, cinnamon pita chips, sausage balls, chips and salsa and cinnamon donut holes.

I was also sure to include my friend's current favorite cravings: brownies and mac and cheese :)

Gifts!

Big sister helping her mommy open gifts!

I put together bag of diaper-changing necessities, monogrammed with the baby's initial.  See the details here.

How stinkin' cute is this?? What a cute idea!  There were bath washes, lotions, rubber duckies and a cuddly frog in "the water"

Nana certainly has been busy!  Look at this GORGEOUS quilt!

The favor table included hand sanitizers, bubble gum cigars and shakers filled with cinnamon and sugar.

What a fun time!

And all the kids were sent home with balloons...

...except one!  OOPS!  LOL
